Content & application
How were the cards developed?
Having an inspiring conversation that strengthens your bond as a couple often happens by chance. CoupleMinutes helps initiate these types of conversations.
During the design process we developed a series of questions and categories which were reviewed by our product testers. Those ideas that received the best reviews made it into these handy card games.
We first launched our card sets in Germany, followed by France. Now CoupleMinutes is finally available for English-speaking couples, too.
What types of conversation starters are included?
Our CoupleMinutes card sets consist of 6 to 7 different categories that allow flexible ways to respond. You get to choose which card to play.
Each set of cards comes with an overview of the individual categories.
Who is CoupleMinutes for?
CoupleMinutes is suitable for all couples who’d like to dedicate more time to their partner – regardless of age, gender, family status and fitness levels.
How long does it take to answer each card?
You can take as long or as little time as you like. Even questions that can be answered briefly might turn into a longer conversation – play it by ear and see where each card will take you.
In what order do we need to play?
That’s completely up to you. You can randomly pick a card from the pile or you can choose a category you fancy.
What do the categories stand for?
There are different ways to play each category. In some categories, you get to answer questions for your partner and vice versa. In others, you both get to say your answers simultaneously after a countdown. The categories also give you a rough idea of the topics you will get to discuss.
Potential concerns
Is it a competitive game with winners and losers?
No, it isn’t. The cards work as conversation starters – there are no right or wrong answers. It’s just about spending some genuine quality time with your partner.
We hardly have any time together in the day. Does this card set still make sense for us?
Absolutely! In fact, this set of cards is perfect for you. You can use the time you spend together for short conversations in the evening, at dinner or whenever you like. You need neither paper nor a pen and it doesn’t matter whether you’re sitting, driving or walking. Just 2 minutes a day is enough to do something good for your relationship.
